INSTRUCTOR:
Ellie
Grace grew up performing professionally as part of her family band
and now carries on her family's tradition in music and percussive
dance. Ellie is an
experienced and patient teacher (having taught at camps, schools,
studios, and festivals across the country for over twenty years). Several years ago, Ellie left Missouri where she was running her own
school of music and dance and headed to Western North Carolina.
Since her arrival here in the mountains, she has been on
faculty as a percussive dance instructor at the University of
North Carolina at Asheville, led Twistycuffs (a Cape Breton step
dance troupe), and continued to tour and teach nationally and
internationally with several bands (Leela and Ellie Grace, Dirk
Powell Band, Blue Eyed Girl) and dance companies. Though
still young, Ellie nonetheless has a lifetime of experience to
offer, delivered with joyful energy and humor.
